It seems the "random" cuts both ways ...
I've had TSA PC as a DL PM on nearly every flight I've taken this year. The exceptions have been on international return flights (I don't have GE - yet). That is, until this past Friday as I began my journey home from a trip to PHX.
I checked in and got my BP and as I'm making my way to the CP and I was just about to enter the PC line, when I noticed the lack of the PC wording on my BP. I dutifully trotted back down to the ticket counter to inquire (without trying to sound DYKWIA). The DL counter agents knew nothing. OK. So I go back to the CP and go thru the "normal" line. When the TSA guy checks my BP/ID I venture to ask if he might know why ... I explained that as a FF (DL PM - DM) I've had it all year, including the flight out there ... but now, not ... might he know why? He ventured that it was a "random selection" for "normal" screening, just as there are "random" SSSS or PC issued to "regular" travelers.
So, according to him anyway, even if you paid for GE/lite/TSA PC you could still get "random" selection for normal screening every once in a while.
Nothing like consistent inconsistency ...
