Cargo hold not accessible --- luggage stowed in last six rows
On a recent flight, the captain announced before take-off that the door to one of the two cargo holds did not operate properly and that no luggage could be loaded into that part of the cargo hold. Instead, passengers from the last 6 rows of the airplane were moved and the luggage was to be stowed and strapped down in these rows. None of the other passengers seemed to be bothered, but is that safe?
