In SFO last year, both primary and companion checked in online.

Notified AS ticket counter 2 hours before departure that primary could not fly.
AS allowed companion to fly, split the record, and placed note in the record allowing
primary to fly anytime in the next week to ANC.

Primary flew the next day and was upgraded to FC. Both primary and companion were MVPG.
