As for public service, its about time to stop them getting the points and I would even say stop the SP's as they are paid for with my taxes!!
we the general taxpayers should not be subsidising the public service taxpayers travel perks. if you pay for the travel out of your pocket then it should be yours to keep, if not you shouldn't get it. Don't know why NZ just stop giving APD and SP's to public service travel as who else you gonna use to get around the country.
Anyway have a great Christmas and New Year and lets see just what new lows NZ can stoop to in 2014.
Nice rant. I guess you do not have to travel for work or if you do it is considered a perk and will not accrue points as you have not paid for it and your customers should not subsidise your lifestyle.
NZ pubic service had a rule that you were not to accrue points due to the public's conception that PS just travel around the place to acquire points....nothing could be further from the truth especially when you have to fill out forms to justify international travel.
To jeffrocowboy there is no way around these airlines and they should be used as the NZ Government has negotiated a discount for selecting them. Your work travel is for the benefit of NZ and the savings will allow more travel or for investment in other areas.
