Simple algorithm to find Top Rated hotels/apartments if you are not affiliated
I prefer the reviews on hotels.com and booking.com. To me they seem.more reliable.

I have almost stopped checking Tripadvisor. Too much info and extreme views/reviews. Tripadvisor I only check for hotel reviews if hotels.com/booking.com has zero reviews.

So I am your option 1. Works well.
