TSA is shifting to a three-tier system in which 85% of pax will receive what is now pre-check, almost all of the remaining will receive what is now the standard check and a small # will receive a secondary (now "SSSS").

Shifting non-PC to PC is done on a random basis and there is no way non-PC pax know what they will get.

The whole goal is randomness and for the vast # of travelers this will work out to a quicker experience while PC will remain valuable for those who want relative certainty, e.g. those with GE or the new GE-lite administered by TSA.
