Here's the scenario: I purchased a multi-segment set of flights through .bomb for a trip a few weeks ago. One of those segments was BDL-CLT via US codeshare. United.com showed it as B class (specifically purchased for the 50% extra PQM), the receipt showed it as B, my ticket (016 stock) showed it as B. Several days later it showed up in my MileagePlus activity as V, so I did not get the 50% PQM bonus.
I've tried several times to get this "fixed" because at no time until the miles credited did United show anything other than B for this flight. One of UA's twitter reps (^KP) as well as two MP service center reps agreed that it should be credited as B, but each time I put in the request I get a voicemail within a few days with a rep telling me that "The fare was converted to V due to United's internal codeshare contract with US Airways so the miles were credited correctly at 100%"
Now as a customer I could care less what the codeshare deal between UA and US is, as all of my receipts and tickets show B class. Is this normal for United to pull what looks to the uninformed customer as a bait-and-switch? Even though we're only talking ~300 PQM is it worth continuing to fight over just on principle? It's not that big a deal to me PQM-wise as I'll still hit 1K thanks to a Dec 31 BOM-EWR flight (which I expect to fight over as well -- it leaves at 11:40 pm, lands at 5am 1/1. Can't get a straight answer on which year it would count for in terms of PQM but all reps I've talked to suggest 2013)
I have to assume this is karma for loudly booing SMI/J during all of his pre-safety video pep talks
