I would have to dig up a map to see where boundaries were but as that part of the ’Pong is the highest of all 6 areas it likely had a tad more influence than any other. It was for example where the houses of the feudal lords in Tokyo to pay homage were set up and where many major burial mounds were. It was not until much later the clubs came along

There were actually a bunch of lumber merchants there, thus the name. The first time I visited there was a still one lumber supplier there. If you find anything historical, I'd be really curious to see it. There were definitely some feudal lords living in the area. I know the Nambu clan had their estate a bit further down Tere-asa Dori (but I'm sure the road had a different name then.
