I've been basically commuting from LAX to NYC for years, and know dozens of others who have as well. All of us are diamond or platinum, and of the several I've spoken to, every singe one is about to burn through our accumulated miles, and head elsewhere. Personally, I've had at least Platinum status for about a decade, so I'm surprised they're going to let us all go as we're fairly high revenue fliers. I suspect they think that businesses will buy out the seats but almost all of us are writers/actors/consultants traveling on our own businesses dime...really surprising.
