I am staying in this hotel now, and the OP must have been really unlucky.

I booked deluxe room on room only basis, and got a Platinum member upgrade to Executive room with lounge access (including breakfast), welcome drink, fruit, internet, and immediate recognition when checking in.

Room is dated but very nice and good size, very high floor with gorgeous view, and i just could not be happier with the experience.
