Just upgraded to the Amex Plat (not DL) which gives me the $200 credit with the airline.
The agent told me it's by calendar year, so I have 2 weeks to spend it, then it resest.

He suggested buying everyone on the plane a drink - which isn't a terrible idea (I have a flight xmas eve!) - but I'm trying to be a little practical.

Can I buy lounge passes for future use? Or anything else durable?

Interested in hearing your creative ideas.

Thanks.

I use my $200 up on drinks/food over the course of a year.

I don't know what value lounge passes would be anyway since it's a benefit of the card.

Buying EVERYONE a drink on the flight would run far beyond $200; at $7 each, you've got 28 drinks to give out (rounding down). Assuming a 6-abreast plane in Y, you've got enough to buy a drink for 4 rows, plus 2 for yourself. Adjust the math accordingly for whatever aircraft you'll be on. To make it easy for the FAs, it would have to be the first 4 rows or the last 4 rows.
