I'd be hesitant to order Ratman. I just paid some meals yesterday, and don't remember seeing THAT one.

Yes, they definitely seem to be more antagonistic on the free seating arrangements. Sounds like you did ok, though. People are generally friendly, and will even offer to switch sometimes, without asking.

You can ask if they have seats together when checking in, and sometimes if the plane isn't full, once the boarding door is closed.

If you're a BIG member, they sometimes send you a "Eye in the Sky" survey, and give you a $15 voucher for filling a survey out, after flying.
