I did email 1-800-flowers to see what could be done. The website says they have a "smile guarantee" but it's pretty vague about what that actually means.
Since you are going to be there for Christmas, take a picture of the plant and send it to 1-800-FLOWERS along with a copy of what the plant looked like on the website.
I did this with Teleflora last year when they sent substitute of "equal value" (NOT!). They gave me a refund of half the price. Better than nothing. Maybe 1-800-FLOWERS will do the same.
I actually ordered the flowers from Teleflora for my mom-in-law just so I could see how they looked in person. I wasn't impressed at all! Was hoping 1-800-FLOWERS would be an improvement.
