I appreciate your thorough help. I'm not going looking for a fight - just need to fly as scheduled and would like to be in upgraded cabin. I'm a little more alarmed than normal bc the flight appears to be close to oversold. I'm just planning to ask to verify that I'm properly checked in and that I won't run into problems with my connection. I always carry a copy of my confirmed res and receipt but don't volunteer them if not needed.

At the airport is certainly a different story but I've spoken to three agents today on 1k line who most certainly couldn't undo the check in of the reservation, or at least said they couldn't.
