In July this year, I flew QF52 SIN-BNE, QF8 BNE-SYD, and followed by a domestic QF SYD-ADL all on one ticket with QF52 and QF8 ticketed as W.
I scored an op-up on QF52 upon check-in at SIN, so that was nice.
However, when I arrived at SYD baggage claim, they informed me that my checked baggage was accidentally off-loaded at BNE and was already on its way on the nonstop BNE-ADL.
The problem was that at check-in, SIN check-in applied the INT->DOM transfer tag. BNE baggage saw it and thought that it was meant to come off at BNE, not SYD.
So I guess the next time I am on QF52-QF8-Dom, I would get them short-check to SYD without that INT->DOM transfer tag, and get SYD DOM transfer desk to re-tag it.
Anyway, my checked bag arrived 30 mins after I arrived at ADL.
So I would suggest that anyone with QF52-QF8-Dom connection should just short-check to SYD.
