Nope. The NRT and HKG flight attendants are AFA and are paid exactly the same as flight attendants based in the U.S.
UA used to have regional flight attendants in BKK and SIN who were not AFA, but they are history now.
I think the new UA wants to get rid of these bases.
Let's take HKG as example, we have direct flight to ORD,SFO,EWR,SIN,SGN and GUM. HKG base crew are restricted to fly HKG/SFO only. What's the point to keep the base?
FYI: TPE and CDG were also under AFA protection but eventually closed in 2001.
