Based on experience last year, I agree with WineCountryUA. Also, I purchased a $3K gift certificate (which was used in 2013) on United.com and got 3000 PQMs to get me over the status line at the end of 2012. If you can float $4000 for delayed use, buy an e-gift certificate on the website.
