Flew on a Premium Economy ticket to Asia from Amsterdam via Paris last week. The AMS-CDG leg was operated by KLM. In the past when travelling PE on KL from AMS-CDG and vice versa I have typically been seated in the last row of Business Class, with the middle seat occupied, but with Business Class food and drink selections. Last week however, after being seated, the purser came over and moved the curtain forward, apologizing that the plane had not been configured correctly. So was effectively moved from the last row of Business to the first row of Economy. Food and drink was regular economy fare.

No, this is not the new standard. AMS-CDG is the only route where KL has this "Premium" service so this might be a mistake from the Flight Attendants.
