Yup - same day, same flight. Skybed Mk1 is still better than PE. Even with a full flat bed I tend not to turn it fully flat myself for sleeping. So Skybed Mk1 is better. If you have not seen the QF Lounge yet after the renovations, the food is now a lot better. For such a short overnight flight, I now tend to eat in the QF and EK lounges and skip all meals on board, and eat again and shower at SYD Dom lounge the next morning.
I have not paid for an SQ ticket since 2001, ended up on an SQ flight in Oct this year by accident because EK cancelled on me and rebooked me onto SQ, otherwise have been boycotting SQ since 2001.
Yes, I also paid about SGD 1.2K for the originally premium economy.
With QF business, you can actually check-in at that separate private premium room at the back of the check-in counters. SQ business has separate counters but no separate premium check-in room.
Since you are flying J on Qantas, with or without status, you can use both the QF lounge and the EK lounge. I normally start off with the QF lounge then go to the EK lounge since the EK lounge is on the way to the gates that QF normally uses at SIN T1.
Do you need lounge access at SYD domestic, or are you already eligible to use QF lounges?
