Don't know about UA's CRJs. AC's won't fit a regular carry-on, and there's no skycheck/gatecheck. If you're first on and in J, the FAs may stick it in the place where they hang coats.

The E90 is a bigger plane and bins (on both sides in Y and on the starboard in J) can take normal sized carry-ons.
