Really? Looks like you haven't been there There is no way you can travel comfortably around by bus in Malta. They have all sort of issues with the company (Arriva) that took over the bus system. In Singapore I would tell you forget about the card and use the extensive bus, mrt system but in Malta I do recommend renting a car. Rentals are cheap and there is no way you can burn a lot of petrol driving around as Malta is relatively small.
