I've been a lurker at airlines' forum but new to IHG forum so pardon me if my questions are too trivial

1. We travel as a family and normally require two rooms. Can I book two rooms under my own name using Points break offers? if yes do I have to book them separately? the App doesn't allow me to book multiple rooms on points break. I fear the hotel might cancel one of the reservation thinking they are under the same name for the same dates

2. How is qualification period for IHG calculated? some airlines opt for' running calender', i.e hitting a certain threshold and then twelve months from qualification whenever that happens. How does it work with IHG?
