Thanks flygod. We did in fact just recently change her passport to ensure we had over 6 months of validity to enter Thailand. Unfortunately that came with the name change, which BA assured us would be fine. Will get onto BA and see if they can help.
FYI, you did not need to get a passport with 6 months validity for Thailand, if you check IATA website it will tell you what you need. I just put a passport with two months validity on it and it came up as valid.
