My CX Marco Polo Gold renewed automatically this past summer without my having to take any action, but my card is only valid until September 2014. Frankly, Marco Polo Gold seemed too good to last, and many of us have been holding our breath to see when the axe would fall.
At least with the Canadian card we do have full Priority Pass, which is something.
If the Marco Polo is going away in Nov 2014 I may renew one more time as I will have a use for it in Nov 2014 with some Asia flights and perhaps some USA travel but then it may be tough to justify the card with lounges being what they are these days and AA access likely going away. Spoke to a Plat rep who said he would check into all of this for me specifically so will report back what I hear. He said they have not been told anything re AA going away for Canadian cards but was aware of the situation with the US cards.
