But for young service members and families being sent across the world without much money, it's a life-saver.
I was just in the BA J lounge in PHL the other week, and the food selection kind of seems similar to the USO lounge (I was on an AA flight so none of that preflight supper for the real BA J pax) I am guessing though the USO lounges dont have blacklabel or the like
So it seems just that, a decent place to get refugee in the airport, nothing fancy but just a welcoming escape.
