Don't forget, not to long ago, DL only flew the 757 on jfk - lax. They only went 767s so they could advertise and sell the flatbed seats. This is what opened UG chances to GM's and in some cases, FO's. When they flew the 75 with angled seats, it was a very tough UG even as a DM. When DL starts pushing out the flatbed 757's, I'd bet my paycheck that the 76's will be removed from jfk - lax altogether. I'm sure DL did there homework and realizes that they could easily sell 16, or close to it, BE seats per flight once the 75's are equiped with the flatbeds. So, the loss here is less then people expect.

Just as I expected, I chose some random dates in June for J travel on JFK - LAX. The fare is actually not to bad....$1900.00. This used to be no lower then $2400ish. I would expect J fares to go even lower. However, as other users have said, why not offer comp UGs to any elite who would be willing to pay for a K or higher fare?

Bulkhead EC isnt to bad. I mean, you get tons of legroom, free booze, free movies so its not like I will be jumping ship.

Lastly, the 4 Global Certs on any fare (minus E) will be nice, and an acceptable trade off for the inability to UG on a 6 hour transcon.. Being able to UG on a 15 hour flight means a lot more to me then the 6 hour transcon UG. Now, lets examine this option a bit further. Since this is limited to DM's, I think the chances of getting upgraded on a sLUT fare are excellent. How many DM's are there on any given international flight? On average, I would say anywhere from 2 to 6.
Now, I can upgrade to BE on JFK to SIN for a $1500.00 fare, and unlike UA, there is no copay or mileage requirements.

Sucks to lose jfk lax/sfo/sea but who knows, maybe they will announce a "we heard you" and allow K and up.

Non revs will most likely not like the gobal certs as that means less seats on international flights. They will like the transcon policy as that will mean an open seat or two once the 75's are all back on those routes.
