If the CX Gold goes away and the AA/US access goes then that is a MAJOR reduction of benefits and a $699 fee in Canada is very hard to justify. My card expires in December and MP show it still expiring at that time. I had no notice of needing to requalify on my own which I could potentially have done had I known.
So far asI know, there has been no announcement or notice that AA/US access has been removed from the Canadian card. I'm not saying it isn't happening, just that unlike our American cousins, I don't think we've been served notice yet, right?
My CX Marco Polo Gold renewed automatically this past summer without my having to take any action, but my card is only valid until September 2014. Frankly, Marco Polo Gold seemed too good to last, and many of us have been holding our breath to see when the axe would fall.
At least with the Canadian card we do have full Priority Pass, which is something.
