It's too bad they botched this simple request. Perhaps in the future it would be better to insist that someone from the front desk/concierge, or preferably duty management handle the order, and to get the name of the person you talk with. Letting them transfer the call to someone else makes it more likely that something will go wrong, and does not place responsibility on anyone to fulfill your request.
