While the award calendar has it's issues, it's usually not "too" bad for domestic economy flights. I just brought it up for January for NYC-JAX flights and most of the days show saver (25K) level availability. And, yes, I actually checked a number of them.
Did you use the Delta website to find these award calendars, or do you have another tool you use to find award calendars across multiple airlines?
