If you say 19J, that means you're looking at the seat map, which you cannot trust.

What is the actual J count from ExpertFlyer or wherever?

I would probably switch to a flight with R space if the change fee is reasonable (if you have an M fare, I assume it's a Flight Pass with $50-$75 change fees).

In fact, with M fares, I wouldn't even book until I'm in my upgrade window unless there's an EYW promotion or something where you need a specific window
