I am considering taking advantage of this offer instead of renewing my Admiral club membership. I can't speak about the benefits of having an actual AC membership, but with this card you get access to all the ACs whether you're flying on AA metal or not. I usually just walk up to the front desk, hand them the card, and enter. I've never been offered any drink chits or anything like that, so maybe that's one benefit that I'm missing out on. I sure do like the 60K AA miles + the option to earn 10K EQMs for spending $40k/year that you get with the card, as opposed to a regular AC membership.
