I think there may have been an error/bug as Avios.com were selling 40,000 for £399. However that 'loophole' is now closed and no doubt BA seemed to have possibly 'forgotten' to increase the price list too as they were also £399 for 35k but it is now £575
A fairly happy day for the consumer at 1.1p (BA) and 1p per Avios (Avios.com)which isn't too bad.

I tried to buy 35000 + 5000 free through Avios.com this morning. Seemed to work OK, and price was stil £399
Just had an email:
"Sorry but we couldn't complete your Avios order because we were not able to process your order
We've cancelled your order and your credit card hasn't been charged."
Will be on the 'phone to them tomorrow...
