I doubt that this person is unique in finishing the year short of SCs for status earning/extra benefits/platinum 1 ; if QF did it for 1 person short of 50, then surely should do it for all and change the policy
The policy is irrelevant, Dave - it is merely a manifestation of a management attitude that is at the root of the company's woes. Much like the unpleasant aroma when a limb turns gangrenous - spraying on some extra deoderant won't fix the problem.....
