Still a few days to reschedule if this doesnt work. Or would be able to get a transit visa before leaving from a consulate not in country of residence- as he is on travel?

and others seem to indicate that the 24h transit without visa does not allow you to leave the airport?
Also previously he went TWOV for up to 48h at PVG. Is the 48h TWOV dropped for the new 72h- and Norway dropped altogether there?
