Whatever the reason for the practice, it's good that Israel has addressed it and at last has an official policy regarding not stamping passports. Relying on the goodwill of the immigration officer created a little too much nervous tension at the frontier!
I get the idea of the message and the statement. Whatever the merits of that, it hits the wrong people. If we're done with that, good riddance.
