Got in off an F flight on Monday, then connected onto a domestic. In row 1.
The difference was shocking, and it's all the baggers fault. We boarded, managed to just about cram my enormous bag (about the size of an A4 pad, but 2" thick) in the overhead. No room for coat. Asked nicely if the cupboard would have space. You know, the one with the hangers.
Oh no, that's for important people with enormous suitcases. Rather than walking down the plane ripping large "in-the-rules", or "duck-house" bags out of the overheads and throwing them in the hold, they decided that it would be far better if we took off with the coats on our laps
Moral of the story with BA -- bring a large bag. If you have a small bag you're screwed.
