Looks like the red-e deals are 'Q' fares, there is Q availability and an appropriate Q fare loaded.
Are you saying that you can see the Red e-Deals on ITA? They've never shown for me, and I can't see any now even when they're available on the QF website.

Taking 10 June 2014, for example, ITA shows me nothing below VFLEX at AUD 282.61.

But the QF website will quote a Red e-Deal of AUD 144.00 for the first flight of the day, which is actually an O class fare. Or there are flights on which the cheapest ticket is a Red e-Deal of AUD 179.00 (on the third flight), which is a Q class fare; or even AUD 245.00 (on the fourth flight), which is an S class fare.

On the second flight, there is no Red e-Deal, but you can get a Saver fare at AUD 270 (actually AUD 269.01), which is a V class fare. The EF fare listing shows that there is a fare whose basis code is VPXI, which is different from the VFLEX that ITA prices.

These results match the availability display from EF:-
Code:
QF 1461 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 X9 E0
QF 1511 J9 C7 D2 I0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 SC NC QC OC XC E0
QF 1463 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q6 OC X6 E0
QF 1513 J9 C7 D2 I0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 NC QC OC XC E0
However, none of these Red e-Deal fares can be those listed on EF, because if you look at the fare rules for OSXI, QSXI, NSXI, SPXI and VPXI, they all have the narrative provision:-
INBOUND COMBINATIONS WITH QF/EK/AA/JQ ONLY
THIS FARE MUST BE SOLD WITH INBOUND TRAVEL TO AUSTRALIA
So I don't think that what the QF website shows for a standalone SYD-CBR ticket can be any of the fares listed on EF.
