I am in Minneapolis and had a case in Milwaukee a few years ago that had me traveling that flight in reverse a couple of times a month for a year or two. I made Gold on segments based mainly on that route. It's a long day, but doable to fly back and forth in a day and you don't have to stay over night. It is impossible to drive the route back and forth In a day although it's so close to a wash in total elapsed time that you're tempted. But if your flight is delayed more than an hour the scales tip the other way and it would have been shorter to drive. It reminds me of the lemon soaked napkin episode from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy where a flight was kept in suspended animation for millennia, waiting for civilization to re-evolve around a flight that was delayed for catering to fill their quota of lemon-scented paper napkins for the passengers' enjoyment and comfort.
