I do not see that as any reason to ignore policy. If it can be shown that this policy is a cause for Qantas's siuation, then it would make sense to modify the policies accordingly

I doubt that this person is unique in finishing the year short of SCs for status earning/extra benefits/platinum 1 ; if QF did it for 1 person short of 50, then surely should do it for all and change the policy
