Yes the whole trip, the parent let it play with the tray to try and keep it quiet and it just kept slamming it shut and when it got bored just yelled.
No I did not do something about it, I did not want to make a scene, it just reinforced why we always fly in Bus class on Air NZ metal where the seats are sufficiently apart to stop this happening.
Unfortunately no bus class available BNE/ZQN and no NZ metal so we will not fly that route again.
