Otherwise, they would be breaching security requirements. 7-11 is assuming that you are having it immediately, otherwise, they have to comply if you ask them to.
The more I use Changi the more flaws I see, but Watsons/Guardian will seal drinks into security bags for you, and they are cheaper than 7-11 for water/coke.
