They did the same when I flew IST-LAX in July 2011, and again last week. There were fewer passport and document checks than last time (brief questioning, passport checked only three times, versus TEN+ the last time, not to mention confiscating all liquids). The process seemed smoother this time. Is it just me, or is Gate 208 now in a new location, in the mezzanine? Or do I not remember this area correctly?
