Never done in on AF but done it the past couple of weeks on BA (using my QR card with OW emerald status to book, select seats, and enter First lounge; then at gate give my BA number) - never a problem when done at the gate. Only once (actually in CDG!) was it a bit tedious. But that could have been because of a less savvy GA
