I understand the reasons for these 17.3" seats, but I don't like them. It's one thing to be uncomfortable for a 90-minute flight, it's quite another to be squished for 9 hours.
People may be getting bigger, but they are also getting more price conscious. If you want more space then you'll have to pay for it (or go on a diet!).
