I stopped by the hotel yesterday, which was opening day. There is a small, functional lobby that is really just for check in. No seating. The diner restaurants is not yet open, but they said it will start serving in late December. In the meantime they have a temporary breakfast setup in a function room on the second floor. The rooftop bar will open around Feb 1. Apparently about half the rooms are open now, with the rest coming online over the course of this month. I got to up and see a room, which was an "executive suite". I liked it a lot, since it is a true suite with doors between the living room and bedroom, and was big enough to seem roomy (by New York standards). My first stay there will be in two months time, and they processed my Diamond suite upgrade into a "corner suite", which is apparently nearly identical to the executive suite I saw--the only difference being the corner location.
