Yes, it gives you
almost all *A Lounge access (no first class lounges though). You don't need to be *Gold. You can have no status and still enter. However, there are very few exceptions though like you can't enter a SQ lounge in SFO and a few other lounges for some weird reason (I think it gets over crowded so they only allow J/F/*Gold members). Oh, and you have to be flying on *A metal that day though.
