The app has always showed status point earn (and required) as well as APD.
Seat number is shown on the main flight screen in the same place it's always been.
I find the update a nice one but it seems to be horribly buggy on my S3
But as Mapnz identified, once you requalified for GE it didn't keep a track of how many you had earned, or how many more you needed for a banked year. All it did was tell you that you had requalified until xx/xx/xx.
