Hyatt Diamond status and pregnancy hiatus
Hyatt has emphasized a number of considerations for female business travellers this year. I'm curious if anyone has experience with the following idea or has any recommendations.
Due to pregnancy complications and maternity leave I won't retain Diamond status next year and won't resume normal business travel until approximately June 1st next year. While normally I'm ~90 hotel nights/year person I expect I can't QUITE get enough Hyatt nights or stays to hit Diamond in a 7 month period even with credit card nights. While I've certainly dabbled with other chains in the past, Hyatt WAS going to be my preferred program until this little speedbump.
Does anyone know if Hyatt will grant either a second diamond challenge to a woman coming off maternity leave or a prorated requalification period? If so, is there an avenue to pursue other than contacting Gold Passport (such as a lurker on Flyertalk?) I saw some similar threads regarding airlines, but none regarding Hyatt and am curious if they are actually walking the talk regarding positive changes for female travellers.
