Looking to book an award flight from HKG back to the US on CX in F or J. The best options I have are flights to LAX or SFO (before making my way back to DC). The LAX flight departs HKG at 9:30AM and arrives at LAX at 7:55AM the same date. The SFO flight departs HKG around 12:00AM and arrives in SFO the previous date at about 11:00PM.

With the SFO flight I'd need to take a redeye back to DC or stay a night in SF before catching a flight the next day which involves a connection (AA or AS) whereas the LAX flight I can get on a flight home that day. So naturally I'd prefer the LAX flight but was hoping to get insight if the SFO flight would be better for preventing jetlag. Thanks in advance!
