At SIN they like to get the masses moving to the gates quicker by changing the status to "flight closing" even though things are still very calm at the gate, a lot of people still waiting to clear security, only premium cabin passengers proceeding to board whilst everyone else is still seated.
Still, they are very reliable. As much as I like LHR in Europe I don't like waiting for boarding to start (according to the screen) and then seeing the entire flight disappear from the monitors.
